BITS Pilani BE, B.Pharm, and M.Sc Admission Process

BITS Pilani conducts admission toIntegrated First Degree programs BE, B.Pharm, and M.Sc through BITSAT or Board Topper's scheme, International Students' admission Scheme, and BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy’s admission Schemes. The admission process and selection criteria for all these schemes are as follows:

• Through BITSAT: BITS Pilani conducts an all India Level test i.e. BITSAT (BITS Admission Test) for integrated first-degree programs including BE, B.Pharm, and M.Sc programs. Candidates seeking admission to any of these programs must appear for the BITSAT to be eligible for admission. 
• Board Toppers: The Institute will provide direct admission to first rank students of all the central and state boards to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score. While the first rank student in PCM stream will be considered for admission to any of the first degree programmes of his/her choice, the first rank holder of PCB stream will be considered for admission to B. Pharm. program only. 
• International Students' Admission: Candidates with foreign passports and valid Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores are eligible to apply for admission. Such candidates are not required to appear for the BITSAT. Candidate should have a minimum aggregate score of 1160 (out of maximum of 1600) in SAT (reasoning) (new format) which includes a Reading Test, Writing and Language Test and Math test.
• BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy: Candidates who appeared in BITSAT can also choose the BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy mode of admission. They’ll receive two degrees that are awarded separately and simultaneously from both the universities, BITS Pilani and RMIT Australia. 

BITS Pilani BITSAT Cutoff

BITS Pilani cutoff 2024 will be released tentatively in July – August. Cutoffs for admission to the BITS Pilani flagship BE program are released based on scores obtained in the BITSAT examination. The university releases the cutoff in minimum score required for admission in multiple rounds. Candidates seeking admission can check the final BITSAT cutoff scores of the last two years for admission to BE, B.Pharm, and B.Sc courses in the table given below:

BITS Pilani BITSAT Application Fees

BITS Pilani offers ME and M.Pharma higher degree programs for 2 years. The ME program is offered in 14 specializations and the MPharm program in 03 specialisations. BITS Pilani fees for ME and M.Pharm programs is INR 6,94,575 (Excluding Hostel and Mess Fees) for the 1st year. Admissions to ME and M.Pharm programs are based on scores obtained in the BITS Higher Degree (BITS HD) Online Test or GATE/GPAT. The eligibility criteria for admission is as follows:

BITS Pilani ME/M.Pharm Selection Criteria

• Admission to all ME (except Software systems) and M.Pharm. programs will be made based on marks obtained in the BITS HD admission test or based on GATE/GPAT score.
• Admission to ME in Software Systems will be through the BITS HD test only.
• Scores of GATE 2024 or GATE 2023 or GATE 2022 will only be considered for admissions to ME programs.
• GPAT 2024 or GPAT 2023 or GPAT 2022 will only be considered for admission to the M.Pharm program.
• For the final admission offers to ME and M.Pharm programs, two separate merit lists are released, one based on GATE/GPAT score and the other based on marks obtained in the BITS HD test.
• In each program, a maximum of 50% of the seats will be filled through GATE/GPAT scores and other 50% by BITS HD test marks.

BITS Pilani ME/M.Pharm Application Fees

BITS Pilani offers an MBA in Business Analytics program through the Department of Management. It is a two-year full-time residential program with a total seat intake of 80. BITS Pilani MBA fees for the MBA program is INR 6,94,575 (Excluding Hostel and Mess Fees) for the 1st year. 

BITS Pilani MBA Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission, aspirants must fulfill the following criteria:

• Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in aggregate and having studied at least one subject in Mathematics or Statistics at 10+2 level.
• Candidates who are in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply for admission.

BITS Pilani MBA Selection Criteria

• BITS Pilani conducts the Business Analytics Admission Test (BAAT) for MBA in Business Analytics admissions.
• Based on performance in the BAAT, candidates will be shortlisted for a personal interview round.
• The final shortlisting will be done based on performance in the BAAT, Personal Interview, CAT (2023)/ XAT (2024)/ GMAT (2023) (if available) along with prior work experience and academic history.

BITS Pilani offers PhD program in regular mode, part-time mode, faculty development scheme, and PhD aspirant scheme. BITS Pilani PhD program provides more than 13 specializations in Engineering, Sciences, and Management. The minimum and maximum duration of the BITS Ph.D program will be of 2 to 5 years. BITS Pilani provides a monthly stipend of INR 28,000 to INR 31,000 to its PhD scholars.

BITS Pilani PhD Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should be working in an organization that collaborates with BITS Pilani for Practice school/ Research/WILP activities. 
• M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil. or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination
• M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm. or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination
• For admissions to Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates with an M.A. degree and a minimum of 55% aggregate may apply.

BITS Pilani PhD Selection Criteria

Admission to PhD course will be based on the entrance examination and interview conducted by BITS Pilani. The students with M.Phil. / M.E. / M.Tech. or with National level fellowships like CSIR NETJRF, DBT-JRF, UGC NET-JRF etc. are exempted from BITS Pilani Written test. However, all candidates need to appear for Personal Interview. 

BITS Pilani PhD Entrance test is conducted in 2 parts. For Biological Sciences/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics Test-I will be common to all disciplines and Test-II will be discipline specific.

• Test 1 will consist of 30 multiple-choice type questions from General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude.
• The duration of Test – I will be 1 hr.
• Each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks while 0.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
